Melaleuca, Inc.’s Privacy Policy for Job Applicants (“Privacy Policy”) describes how Melaleuca, Inc. collects and processes information with respect to the Personal Information of individuals who apply to work with us, whether as an employee, worker, contractor, consultant, temporary worker, apprentice, graduate or placement student and made through our website or other recruitment channels (such as iCIMS) available to Melaleuca.
Please Note: This Privacy Policy for Job Applicants does not cover Melaleuca Inc.’s processing of personal information collected from you in other capacities, such as when you make a purchase on our website as a customer or act as a Marketing Executive. 2. Types of Personal Information Melaleuca May Collect
Melaleuca collects and uses your Personal Information for the purpose of determining your qualifications for current or future employment and reaching a hiring decision as well as to comply with applicable laws and regulations, such as laws related to the evaluation of those seeking employment, or to defend ourselves in claims under such laws.
We may collect the following categories of Personal Information. We may not collect information from every category for every applicant. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any data that is publicly available or data that is aggregated or deidentified.
- Your name, address, email address, telephone number and other contact information.
- Your resume or CV, cover letter, previous and/or relevant work experience or other experience, education, transcripts, or other information you provide to us in support of an application and/or the application and recruitment process.
- Information from interviews and phone screenings you may have.
- Details of the type of employment you are or may be looking for, current and/or desired salary and other terms relating to compensation and benefits packages, willingness to relocate, or other job preferences.
- Details of how you heard about the position you are applying for.
- Any sensitive and/or demographic information processed during the application or recruitment process such as gender, information about your citizenship and/or nationality, medical or health information, and/or your racial or ethnic origin.
- Reference information and/or information received from background checks (where applicable), including information provided by third parties.
- Information relating to any previous applications you may have made to Melaleuca and/or any previous employment history with Melaleuca.
- Your information from publicly available sources, including online, that we believe is relevant to your application or a potential future application (e.g. your LinkedIn profile).
- Information related to any assessment you may take as part of the interview screening process.
If an offer of employment is extended and you accept, additional types of Personal Information will be collected in preparation for your employment with Melaleuca.
We do not collect or use the Personal Information you submit as a job applicant for purposes unrelated to the hiring and onboarding processes.
3. How Melaleuca Collects Your Personal Information
Melaleuca may collect your personal information in the following ways:
- When You Provide It
- During the application, recruitment, and onboarding process, we may collect, store and process the above categories of personal information directly from you when you submit them to us as part of a job application, when you share information about job postings with others, or when you sign up for a networking event.
- From Other Sources
- From Service Providers. We may obtain personal information about you (such as your name, address, phone number, resume/CV, other files or content, and education and employment details) from recruiters and headhunters who submit it to us on your behalf in connection with job postings.
- From Public Information. We may collect your personal information from your public social media profile (on LinkedIn or other similar services) or from your referees to complement the personal data you have provided. We use this information for the purpose of evaluating and verifying your experience and qualifications in relation to specific job requirements. We do so to take pre-contractual steps at your request. If we request references, it is your responsibility to obtain consent from referees before providing their personal information.
- From Background Screening Process. Where legally permitted, we may collect personal information about you from third parties, such as employment agencies, former employers, and personal and professional references, or public sources to conduct lawful background screenings, to the extent permitted by law. We will provide you with acknowledgement and authorization forms accordingly.
- Collected Automatically
- Like many companies, we may use “cookies” on the Careers Sites to obtain certain information by automated means, such as the IP address of the device you use to connect to the Internet and the pages accessed. By collecting this information, we learn how to best tailor our Careers Sites to our visitors.
4. Why Melaleuca Collects Personal Information
The information that you submit during a job application process may be used for business, personnel recruitment, management, and planning purposes including the following:
- Analyze your qualifications for the job you applied for or future jobs that may match your profile.
- Communicate with you regarding your job application, your inquiries and requests, other job openings, or important notices.
- Conduct criminal history, background, and employment checks, if we offer you a position.
- Support our efforts to maintain a diverse workforce.
- Comply with or monitor our compliance with any applicable law or regulation.
You are responsible for the information you provide to Melaleuca and ensuring that it is honest, truthful, accurate, and not misleading in any way.
6. How Melaleuca May Disclose Your Personal Information
We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- Vendors and Service Providers. We may share your information with vendors and service providers that we believe need the information to perform a technology, business, or other professional function for us, including providing products or services to you or our clients on our behalf, creating or maintaining our databases, researching and analyzing the people who request information from us, preparing and distributing communications, or responding to inquiries.
- Affiliates. We may share your information with companies that we own or control, that are owned or controlled by us, or that are under common ownership or control for legitimate business purposes.
- Business Transition. If Melaleuca, or any portion of our assets, are acquired by, merged with, transferred to, or invested in by another company, we may share your personal information with that company or other third parties involved in the business transition. We cannot promise that an acquiring party or the merged entity will have the same privacy practices or treat your information the same as described in this Policy.
- Legal. We share information where necessary to comply with applicable law, to respond to requests from law enforcement agencies or other government authorities or third parties, as permitted by law, and without your consent when it is necessary to protect our customers, employees, or property; in emergency situations; or to enforce our rights under our terms of service and policies.

We may use various cookies, technologies, and other automated means to collect certain information about your use of our websites and application processes. Melaleuca does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in applicable laws.
8. Retention & Disposal
We retain information as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which we collected it, for legitimate business reasons, or as required by law. We may need to keep your data for longer than our specified retention periods to honor your requests, including to continue keeping you opted out of emails and/or SMS, or to comply with legal or other obligations. When we dispose of information, we use secure means, such as either physically or electronically erasing information or making it anonymous in a non-recoverable manner.

Melaleuca has implemented reasonable security measures designed to help prevent the loss and unauthorized access of your Personal Information. Melaleuca strives to keep your Personal Information accurate and secure. To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect from you. We use encryption technology when collecting or transferring sensitive data, such as credit card information. We operate data networks protected by firewall and password protection systems. Access to this information will be provided only to authorized individuals for legitimate business purposes. In addition, access to your Personal Information is restricted to staff and service providers on a need-to-know basis.
Despite these efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against interception or to be secure absolutely. As a result, while we strive to protect your Personal Information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or our online services. You can help protect your Personal Information by not reusing any passwords you use in connection with your Melaleuca accounts.
10. California Notice at Collection – This section is intended for California residents.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (“CPRA”), you are entitled to be informed about the following, at or before the point of collection of your personal information:
- The categories of personal information we will collect, the purposes for which those categories of personal information will be collected or used and whether such information will be sold or shared.
- The categories of sensitive personal information to be collected and the purposes for which those categories of sensitive personal information will be collected or used and whether such information is sold or shared.

To the extent that we collect your personal information that is subject to the CCPA as amended, that information and our practices are described below. The categories we use to describe the information are those enumerated in the CCPA as amended; categories not listed are not collected. Certain personal information may fall into multiple categories.
Categories of Personal Information We Collect
- Identifiers, such as your name, address, email address, phone number, IP address, social security number, government identification number, and social media account identifiers.
- Other identifying information, such as physical characteristics or description, date of birth or signature.
- Characteristics of protected classifications, including race, ethnicity, gender, age, veteran status, sexual orientation, health data, military and veteran status, citizenship and immigration status, and disability status.
- Internet activity information, including IP address and the job postings you view and which you apply.
- Audio and visual information, such as photographs and videos that may be voluntarily disclosed by you in your application, or audio and visual information collected during the interview process.
- Professional or employment-related information, such as work history, academic and professional qualifications, educational records, references, interview notes, job title, position, hire dates, compensation (if permitted by applicable law), performance and disciplinary records, and vacation and sick leave records.
- Inferences, specifically other jobs you may be interested in based on applications you have submitted or job postings you have viewed.
Sensitive Personal Information
Certain types of information are considered sensitive personal information in specific jurisdictions. Melaleuca does not collect every type of sensitive personal information during the application process.
We may collect the following: information on race, ethnicity, nationality or national origin, age, gender identity, sex, criminal convictions and offenses, marital status, medical or health information (including disability status), genetic or biometric information, background check information, veteran status, social security number, driver's license number, state identification card number, passport number.
Depending on the stage of an application, in addition to the information you provide to us, we may obtain information about you from other third parties, such as platforms used to collect application information, recruiters, references, former employers, and law enforcement agencies.
No Sale of Personal Information
Melaleuca does not sell or share any personal information. Melaleuca also does not process sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about job applicants.
Privacy Rights Disclosure
As a California resident, subject to certain exceptions, you may assert certain rights related to your personal information as identified below. Melaleuca will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
- Right to Know. You may have the right to request information about the categories of Personal Data we have collected about you, the categories of sources from which we collected the Personal Data, the purposes for collecting, selling, or sharing the Personal Data, and to whom we have disclosed your Personal Data and why. You may also request the specific pieces of Personal Data we have collected from you.
- Right to Correct. You may request us to rectify, correct or update any of your personal information held by us that is inaccurate.
- Right to Delete. You may have the right to request that we delete Personal Data that we have collected from you.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale and Sharing for Targeted Advertising Purposes. You have the right to opt-out of the sale of your personal information. Melaleuca does not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined in applicable law.

To protect your privacy, we must be able to verify your identity to confirm that the rights request came from you. We may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time and will indicate any such modifications by changing the last updated date at the top of this page. If we make any material changes, we will post a prominent notice on the site, using the email address or contact information that we have on file for you, or as otherwise required by law.
